From the first time I rode a bike (at age 4) I fell in love with bikes. I started racing BMX at age 8, where I earned my Junior WP Colours.  I got my first mountain bike in 1992, and since that first ride on a very rainy day, where I came home drenched, freezing and covered in mud, mountain biking has always been my passion.

I currently focus on Downhill and Enduro. I have raced (and earned podiums) in most cycling disciplines. I have a cycling coaching certificate from the Sports Science Institute of South Africa. I am also a qualified fitness coach and have a diploma in Sports Nutrition. My passion for coaching and riding, combined with identifying a need for regular skills development rides for ladies in the Tygerberg area, has inspired me to start Trail Savvy.

I believe that in order to be confident on the bike, have more fun and reduce injuries, learning the basics is essential. You can then take your riding further to become a skilled, confident rider by natural and gradual progression. A   group skills ride is the perfect platform for this. It combines a fun ride that improves your fitness, with the cameraderie of a group of fellow riders.
